My name is Liucija Kostiva and I am textile designer focused on surface and product design. My work varies between different fields - from fashion and home textiles to installation art. After six years of studies and experiments in different textile mediums I spent my recent years researching woven fabric structures and developments using computer-aided technology. I find my inspiration in textile’s potential to provide physical and emotional comfort.

Blanket project that is inspired by pine needle and its authentic graphic look. Here pine needles that were found in Lithuanian forests are used to create graphic line drawings.

This interactive wall hanging with an illustrated topiary garden hides secrets that can be unfolded by cutting the top layer of yarns. Similar to Persian garden carpets which were depicting the myth of heaven’s delight, this wall hanging tells a story about man's search for perfection and his opposing wild nature.

Interactive blanket collection - I Love You is my MA graduation project. This jaquard woven collection embodies the importance of emotional comfort and celebrates innocence. Here simple home item - plaid - elevates to caregiving object and invites to play and dream.

Loves Me - Loves Me Not ( Myli-Nemyli ) interactive blanket is part of the I Love You collection. This blanket offers to play the love searching game. You can find daisy flowers hidden under loose yarns with even or odd numbers of petals that will tell your fortune.

Blanket I Love You ( Aš Tave Myliu ) invites to play and to find love words hidden behind loose yarns. One cut through the yarns resembles the unwrapping of secret note.

Make a Wish ( Sugalvok Norą ) blanket invites to play and make wishes. One cut through the loose yarns is like one blow that removes dandelion seeds off.
